HKLM\Software\Classes\AllFileSystemObjects\ShellEx\ContextMenuHandlers HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run Note that I have several versions of Photoshop installed as well as some other Adobe software: Here are the things I've unchecked (which do not run). Turns out they want to run an awful lot of software that isn't essential to the correct functioning of Photoshop. To be fair, I do block a number of Adobe packages from starting when I log in (via Autoruns). Perhaps Adobe thinks one has to be a computer geek to want to manage things at that careful a level, in which case determining the code signature date on a file is no big deal, but I suspect there's a middle ground of careful, serious people who just don't happen to have a degree in computer science.Īs a career expert in engineering processes and software management systems, I'll be more than happy to consult with Adobe on such things as repeatable processes and risk management.Ĭonfirmed, I do not have dynamiclinkmanager running in my Task Manager process list, even when Photoshop is running. ![]() What Adobe may not realize is that many of the people using their software actually care about such things, and actually prefer to manage the versions of software running on their computers. Instead, you actually have to examine the code signature on such files as Photoshop.exe.įrankly, while it may be warranted, Adobe ought to be ashamed of themselves for causing such version confusion, and further so by not being willing even to rebuild software with just a version change. Thus, you will not see direct evidence anywhere that you have 13.0.1.1. It's an attempt by adobe to mitigate the risk they perceive in actually rebuilding their software to contain an updated 13.0.1.1 (or gasp even 13.0.2) version. I'd like to see more things fixed in Photoshop CS6.ġ3.0.1.1 is a security signature update on code that's numbered internally 13.0.1.0. I sure hope 13.0.1.1 isn't the last update.
